There are many many videos I could link you to help you get to know him/the group. Here are a few!
1. NO MERCY - ⠀episodes
This is the survival show that Monsta X competed in to debut. It's long, but a great way to get to know the members and their backstory.
2. DEOKSPATCH (X) - ⠀episodes
Deokspatch is a mini series filmed during No Mercy (so they include eliminated trainees). They're pretty random, and help you get to know them, too! Meanwhile, Deokspatch X is focused on primarily the Monsta X members.
4. RIGHT NOW - ⠀episodes
One of my favorite series they've filmed! Monsta X complete missions as well as travel around Korea, and even China.
Another fun series Monsta X does! Season 1 and 2 are completed, and they are currently filming season 3 as of 2018. Can be found on YouTube (linked above) or their V-LIVE channel.

ADDITIONAL BACKGROUND INFO
When he was younger, Shownu competed as a swimmer and was amazing at it, but he stopped to focus on his studies.
Shownu use to be seen as a robot, due to his awkward nature around others, he did not make much conversation. But! Shownu has participated in many variety shows, eventually boosting his confidence to speak.
Shownu got into music because of Rain, who also inspired him to audition for JYP.
He was a trainee at JYP Entertainment for 2 years, training alongside GOT7 and Miss A. Shownu won first place at his JYP open audition!
Before No Mercy, Shownu was apart of a short-lived group called Nuboyz. Click here to learn more about Nuboyz!
Before joining Starship, Shownu was a back up dancer for Lee Hyori's BAD GIRL.
He also starred in D-Unit's MV: Talk To My Face
Shownu sang an OST called Now I Know for the drama Protect The Boss.
He covered Baek Yerin's Across the Universe in this video
He is one of the most selfless leaders I have seen! For example, he gave up some of his lines in Beautiful for Hyungwon! Shownu also shared his earnings between the 7 members from the CF he was in.
Shownu participated in Mnet's Hit The Stage, a show featuring K-pop idols teaming up with professional dance teams to compeete in a survival contest. Shownu ranked third overall!
The group often refers to Shownu as "appa (아빠)" or "abeoji (아버지)", which translates to father in korean.
WHO ARE NUBOYZ?
If you are a recent fan, there's a chance you might not know who Nuboyz are! That's okay, because they didn't last very long. Nuboyz was a 4 membered group created in August 2014 under Starship Entertainment. The group consisted of Shownu, Jooheon, Wonho (current MX members) and #Gun, who debuted as a soloist in 2016. This group didn't make it far, as No Mercy began in December 2014, with all members competing against one another. The four did perform at a Starship X concert! If you search Nuboyz on YouTube, you can watch it there. Although, before disbanding, they released a mixtape with various songs on it (but they never truly debuted).

Revealed in a V-LIVE, Shownu says that if Shownu was not his stage name, it could have been Zet.

1. COOL KIZ ON THE BLOCK - ⠀ep. 113⠀114
Shownu participates in the show's swim team, competing against other celebrities. This show really showcases his swimming ability in action!
2. HIT THE STAGE - ⠀full episodes ⠀his stages
Idols team up with a professional dance team to compete against each other. Other idols include SHINee's Taemin, NCT's Ten, TWICE's Momo, and more. This show will help you see his full potential when it comes to dancing. Shownu is featured on episodes 1-2, 5-8, and 10.
3. LAW OF THE JUNGLE -⠀ep. 216⠀⠀217⠀⠀218⠀⠀219
Idols are sent out to a remote locations around the world to survive. Other celebrities on these episodes include Super Junior's Leeteuk and Kangin, and more.
4. LIPSTICK PRINCE - ⠀season 1 ⠀season 2
Seven male idols who are makeup beginners participate in a show to better their skills. Each episode, a female idol guest will come and the male idols will use what they know to apply makeup on her. Other idols include NCT's Doyoung/Johnny, BTOB's Eunkwang, SF9's Rowoon, and more. Shownu is featured on all episodes in season one and two.

5. RUNNING MAN - ⠀ep. 307
The MCs and guests are to complete missions at a landmark to win the race. Shownu is a guest on the show alongside Sistar!
6. WEEKLY IDOL - ⠀ep. 291⠀ 292
Monsta X have consistently been on Weekly Idol as a group, but now on his own, Shownu along other idols is a guest on the segment Masked Idol. (Although you can tell by his voice) Shownu is the Jellyfish Prince. He is in episodes 291 and 292. He is the second Masked Idol winner on the show, the prize is you get to promote your group.
*The second half of 291 is WJSN's segment, so he is only in the beginning.
7. OH! COOL MEN - ⠀raw episodes ⠀shownu subbed clip
The hottest five celebrities team up together to take classes on how to be cool! Shownu is not in every episode.
*Unforunately, none of the episodes are subbed. But there is one clippet of Shownu that is.
8. KING OF MASKED SINGER - ⠀stages
A show in which compete against each other one-on-one, wearing masks to conceal their identity to remove the factor of popularity. Shownu's costume is OkiDoki. Not really a variety show but I wanted to include anyway!
*No eng subs, but he's mainly singing so no subs are truly needed!
9. VIDEO STAR - ⠀shownu cuts
A talk show!

10. GET IT BEAUTY - ⠀shownu cuts
Sort of similar to Lipstick Prince, but features more female idols. Hosts give you tips on health, fitness, and beauty.

10. KNOWING BROS - ⠀episode
Also known as Men on a Mission or Ask Us Anything! Shownu comes onto the show alongside Shinee's Taemin, Super Junior's Eunhyuk, and Clon's Junyeob. Thankfully, it is subbed!
